West Virginia University

West Virginia University isn't just a place to get a degree; it's a way of life built on a foundation of fierce pride and community. The moment you step onto campus, the "Mountaineer" spirit is palpable. On any given Saturday in the fall, Morgantown transforms into a sea of gold and blue, with the echoes of "Let's Go Mountaineers!" reverberating through the hills. This is a campus where school spirit isn't just for athletes; it's a unifying force that brings together students from all 50 states and over 100 countries. The student body is known for being down-to-earth, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. It's a large university with a small-town feel, where striking up a conversation with a stranger is the norm. The campus itself is unique, spread across three distinct areas—Downtown, Evansdale, and Health Sciences—connected by the iconic Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system. While sometimes quirky, riding the PRT becomes a shared rite of passage. The culture is a definitive "work hard, play hard" environment, where students are serious about their studies but also know how to celebrate their successes and embrace the quintessential American college experience.
