Yerevan Physics Institute

The Yerevan Physics Institute (YerPhI), also known as the A.I. Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory, stands as the leading physics research institution in Armenia and the broader Caucasus region. It was founded in 1943 by the renowned physicists Abraham Alikhanyan and Artem Alikhanyan, initially as a branch of the Leningrad Institute of Physics and Technology of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since its inception, YerPhI has achieved remarkable success in fields such as nuclear physics, cosmic ray physics, and high-energy physics, laying a solid foundation for Armenia's scientific development and enjoying a strong reputation within the international scientific community.
