Minjiang University is situated in Fuzhou, a historic and culturally significant city on China's southeastern coast. It is a full-time comprehensive undergraduate university established and operated by the People's Government of Fujian Province. The university's roots can be traced back to the Fuzhou Teachers College and Minjiang Vocational University, both founded in 1958. In 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formally established through the merger of these two institutions.
