The University of South-Eastern Norway (USN), one of Norway's largest national universities, was formed in 2018 through the merger of several historic university colleges, with roots dating back to the 1800s. USN is renowned for its unique geographical location and multi-campus model, spread across eight campuses in the picturesque Telemark and Vestfold regions of southeastern Norway, including Porsgrunn, Drammen, Bø, and Kongsberg. The university is committed to providing high-quality, career-oriented education and applied research, closely integrating with regional industry and societal needs to cultivate professionals with practical skills and innovative spirit. USN's strengths lie in its broad range of disciplines and strong practical teaching capabilities. The university enjoys an excellent reputation in engineering and technology, health sciences, teacher education, business administration, maritime studies, and arts and culture. For example, its Faculty of Engineering is a leader in sustainable energy, industrial IT, and automation; while its Faculty of Health Sciences offers cutting-edge courses in nursing, occupational therapy, and other fields. The campus culture is open and inclusive, encouraging students to actively participate in club activities and international exchange programs. However, for international students from non-EU/EEA countries, USN reintroduced tuition fees in the fall of 2023, increasing the cost of studying abroad.
