Huaiyin Institute of Technology, located in Huai'an, a historical and cultural city in Jiangsu Province, is a full-time undergraduate university sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government. Its predecessor can be traced back to Huaiyin Industrial College, established in 1958. In 2000, it was formed by the merger of Huaiyin Industrial College, Huaiyin Teachers College (part of the former Huaiyin Teachers College), and Huaiyin Agricultural College, and renamed Huaiyin Institute of Technology.
