Southwest Forestry University, located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, known as the "Spring City," is the only independent forestry undergraduate university in Southwest China. Founded in 1958 as Yunnan Forestry College, it was renamed Southwest Forestry College in 1978 and finally Southwest Forestry University in 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education.
