The Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) is a unique collaboration between the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, established in 1984. As the only dental faculty in the Netherlands, ACTA combines research, education, and patient care in a single 25,000 square meter facility. With over 500 staff members and approximately 850 students, ACTA is one of the world's largest dentistry education and training programs. The institute consistently ranks among the top dental schools globally, achieving 2nd place in the QS World Rankings by Subject in 2019 and being recognized as one of the top 3 dental research institutes worldwide. ACTA treats 300 patients daily while conducting cutting-edge research in oral health sciences.
