School Overview

The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) is a leading international scientific college established in 1945 as a "crisis course" for architecture students whose education was interrupted by World War II. Located in a revitalized industrial area near the Akerselva River in central Oslo, AHO provides research-based education in architecture, design, and landscape architecture. The school serves approximately 800 students, with 25% international students at Master's level and 50% international PhD candidates. AHO offers three Master's programmes (Architecture, Design, and Landscape Architecture) and post-professional courses in Urbanism and Architectural Conservation, all taught in English. The school features three institutes: Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape, and Design, with unique workshops for wood, plastic and metal work, a full-scale construction hall, and rapid manufacturing labs. AHO maintains approximately 60 cooperation agreements with universities across five continents.
